Job Title: Quantity Surveyor & Senior Quantity Surveyor
Positions Available: 2 - Intermediate and Senior

Job Type: Permanent role (Freelance Contracts Considered)
Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 Per Annum + Package (Salary negotiable on level and relevant experience)

Our client, a large Civil Engineering & Construction Contractor within the UK, are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor, to help deliver a flagship Major Highways project in the Birmingham area. They are ideally looking for people to join their team on a permanent basis but are open to consider freelance contracts as well.

This role will offer the chance to help deliver one of the largest multi-million Highways projects currently starting in the Birmingham area and you will be able to work on the project from inception through to completion, over the coming years.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
* Supporting cost control throughout all stages of a major project.
* Commercial reporting including the production of monthly cost & value forecasts, including monthly project review reports and monthly cost & value forecasts.
* Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment.
* Identifying risks and opportunities and understanding change control.
* Management of subcontractors, subcontract package and material procurement schedules.
* Supporting the project manager in respect of both project and commercial deliverables.
* Producing impact assessments, early warning, risk expenditure and compensation event submissions.
* Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager in respect of wider issues.

Candidates will ideally have:
* Previous experience in a relevant Quantity Surveyor position.
* Previous experience working within the Highways industry, ideally on similar major projects (up to £100M in value).
* A formal qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar (I.e BSc, HND or similar).
* Be familiar with NEC forms of contract.
* Be able to manage client budgets.
* Have strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong IT skills with experience of databases and MS Office.
