Quantity Surveyor, Water Utilities and Civils: Exceptionally Competitive Salary, Hertfordshire

One of UK's leading principal contractor is seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to work on water projects valued up to £5million per year for their valuable water utilities client. The projects incorporate working on mains rehab, mitigations and condition assessments. They are an international award-winning contractor who invest in new builds, maintenance and renewing, across a range of sectors including education, health, transport and utilities. This is a very fast paced role, working on high volume of project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial financial resources of the projects and maximising value margins through placing and controlling contracts and sub-contracts
  • Impart their commercial expertise to contracts, with details included on the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring and contract performance
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
  • Authorise and submit project variations and authorise the placement of contracts, sub-contracts, material and plant orders
  • Maximise cash flow and control, measurement and valuation of work and invoice customers and suppliers
  • Value work by sub-contractors and verify interim and final payments
  • Implement company policies for risk management

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification
  • Experience within a project environment
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, advanced user of Excel
  • Excellent Communication skills, written and oral
  • Must be flexible in hours of work and travel
  • Eager for career progression
