Job description

Our client is an established name in the modular and off-site construction sector, they have been established for more that 60 years and have developed an excellent reputation in the market. They work across multiple sectors including education, retail, healthcare and commercial projects across the UK.

Due to the increase in workload across their Sales division they are now seeking a QS to join their team based out of their Hull office.

  • Prepare and update Account Development Records for projects regularly
  • Prepare and issue Applications for Payment to Clients on a timely basis and obtain necessary Client approval in accordance with the conditions of the main contract
  • Prepare and settle Final Account within two months of completion of the project
  • Recover retention
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers in order to understand current issues and progress with site
  • Measure Sub-Contractor performance and quality of work by regularly visiting site
  • Review and approve Sub-Contractor Applications for Payment on a timely basis
  • Resolve Final Account disputes with clients
  • Weekly meeting with operation to keep current with variation orders and progress on projects
  • Review and finalise contracts with clients
  • Ensure timely application of monies
  • Ensure certifications are received timely from clients and payment is made accordingly
  • Record revenue & costs on the project management system to reflect current position on site and final account projections
  • Agreement and negotiation of final account valuations with clients
  • Management of all project revenue and cost variances, overspend and underspend on each individual project, working with operations to understand and record why.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience working with a Main Contractor on projects up to £10m.
  • Experience in bid and project delivery project phases
  • Contract and dispute resolution experience
  • Good all-round technical knowledge including basic knowledge of Building Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of commercial contracts (NEC and JCT)
