Salary: £36,000 to £45,000 Per Annum + Package (Negotiable on level & relevant experience)

Our client, a large Civil Engineering contractor who operate within the Water sector, have an excellent opportunity available for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team, on a permanent basis, working on a large framework scheme for one of their key clients Severn Trent Water, helping to finish delivering projects within AMP 6 and delivering projects within AMP 7, over the coming 5+ years.

The role will involve working with the existing commercial team, to manage multimillion-pound contracts, ensuring that schemes stay within financial parameters and that any changes or early warnings are picked up and resolved with the client.

The role would suit a well organised individual with previous commercial experience within the Water sector (ideally on AMP 6 projects), or someone who has worked within a similar / applicable Infrastructure or Civil Engineering environment.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
* Ensuring cost control is maintained throughout all functions (procurement, delivery, design etc.).
* Supporting the project manager in respect of both project and commercial deliverables.
* Providing support and mentoring Assistant Quantity Surveyors within respective projects.
* Preparing subcontract tender packages, carrying out comparisons and place relevant orders.
* Responsible for the management, collation, interpretation and analysis of project commercial records.
* Supporting the Target Cost process through all of the key milestones.
* Production of monthly cost & value forecasts, including monthly project review reports.
* Identification of risks and opportunities to project spend / budgets.
* Production of monthly cost & value forecasts.
* Providing sub-contractor management to Projects.
* Producing impact assessments, early warning, risk expenditure and compensation event submissions.
* Supporting the Senior / Lead Quantity Surveyor in respect of wider issues.

Candidates will ideally have:
* Previous experience in a relevant Quantity Surveyor position.
* Previous experience working within the Water or Civil Engineering industry, ideally on similar projects including AMP 6 projects (or have worked in other applicable Infrastructure sectors).
* A formal qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar (I.e BSc, HND or similar).
* Be familiar with NEC forms of contract.
* Be able to manage client budgets.
* Have strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong IT skills with experience of databases and MS Office.
