Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Role - Housing - North Lancashire - Up to £40k per year

An exciting opportunity to join a fast moving, growing, North West based house builder, specialising in new build housing sites and refurbishments.

Due to the expansion of this business, I am currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor /Estimator to join our team.

The Role:

  • Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities and other documentation.
  • Develop the schedule of rates to produce comprehensive and accurate pricing guides.
  • Measure and value the work done on site.
  • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, the contracts manager and the managing director.
  • Measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications for payment including Final accounts.
  • Maintain responsibility for your personal health and safety whilst at work.
  • Confidently engage with current and future clients, maintaining positive relationships.

Experience Required:

  • Has previous experience in Estimating within the construction industry and/or Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying/Construction/Estimating related subject.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement processes.
  • Has knowledge of construction techniques on projects.
  • Has the ability to apply the knowledge and principles of commercial management to construction projects.
  • Excellent organiser with proven time management skills.
  • Numerate with good IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Job Location: You will be based at our Head Office in North Lancashire however travelling will be required to visit sites and attend meetings. (Full UK Driving License required).

Hours of work: 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
