Quantity Surveyor

Anderselite have been contracted to source a Quantity Surveyor for a 5 start housebuilder. The successful candidate will be working closely with commercial team to facilitate the cost-effective delivery and completion of developments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administration of the project
• Preparing trade scope and works
• Preparing selected tender list for approval
• Collation and issue of subcontract tenders
• Prepare subcontractors appointment and proposal documents
• Holding and taking minutes of Subcontract Post-Tender and Pre-Order Meetings
• Preparing subcontract documentation for signing by both parties in accordance with BH’s Call Off Contract procedure
• Certifying subcontractor payments
• Assessing variations with subcontractor
• Producing subcontractor instruction/variation reports
• Preparing final account with subcontractors
• Assisting with Surveyors’ monthly cost reports
• Attending Design Team Meetings as required
• Attending subcontractor progress meetings as required
• Assisting in production of contractual letters to subcontractors when requested
• Assisting Project team with financial implications of site progress decisions
• Scheduling of directly procured materials to assist buying department
• Measurement of elements incorporated into designs to establish value and extent of works
• Assist Commercial department with compliance to business core objectives
• Procurement experience


Experience, Qualifications, and skills:
• Must have worked as a Quantity Surveyor on similar kinds of projects, working as a contractor on a housing construction project
• Quantity Surveyor related degree or HND/HNC Building Studies
• Procurement experience
• Good administration skills
• Strong communication and listening skills, with good negotiation skills
• Strong numeracy and financial management skills and the ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
• Negotiating and team-working skills and the ability to motivate and lead those on site
• Highly motivated to deliver quality developments
• Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and demonstrates ability to meet deadlines

Salary

• £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience plus package

Essential
• At least 5 years previous experience working in a commercial role, preferable for a main contractor in residential sector
