Job description
A respected and highly regarded Main Contractor is seeking to appoint a Quality Engineer to a long-term underground station improvement project based in London.
As the Quality Engineer, your will be responsible for assisting in the set-up and maintenance of the Quality Management System and add input to the planification, coordination and control of the quality of works. Other responsibilities will include:
- Checking the compliance of the activities on site, assist QA on site.
- Identifying potential defects and providing advice in corrective and preventive actions.
- Reviewing Inspection and Test Plans;
- Assisting Contractors/Suppliers if required on the implementation of the QMS/ ITPs and related procedures.
- Reporting Non-Conformances to Management, assisting monitoring implementation on Corrective and Preventive actions to prevent the appearance of any non-conformity items on sites.
- Updating quality files if required.
- Providing assessment in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions in case of the detection of non-conformities and to conduct monitoring of new actions.
- Ensure Quality Control in all activities and works related with the project.
- Ensure compliance with the quality requirements of the Contract Documents, ITP and Quality Plan.
Due to the technically challenging nature of this role, it is anticipated that you will meet the following criteria:
- HND or HNC level or equivalent in an engineering, construction or related discipline.
- Previous relevant experience in the rail, construction or engineering industry.
- CQI Practitioner or above
- IT literate - Microsoft Excel, Word and Visio
