Job description

Quality Assurance Advisor / Engineering compliance role - civil engineering/rail . South Wales and South-West (regional role) - c£30k-£40k+car allowance and benefits. Excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a good order book and working within a close knit team with opportunities to progress into senior roles within engineering, quality or health and safety.

You will be delivering support on the day to day engineering and assurance activities for the business.

Responsibilities:-
Site visits and auditing of the Rail procedures and standards of the Rail Division - quality, health and safety and environmental
Auditing activities against the requirements of the Network Rail framework
Reporting and logging the findings of audits
Compiling management information from audit data
QA compliance and engineering checks on Inspection Test Plans, QA plans and engineering practices, as well as reviewing the other E,H & S activities, in support of health, safety, environmental and quality team.

Strong communication and IT skills are a must have as you will be required to:
Communicating clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
Using our software systems, and handling data in Excel
Construction/engineering activity takes place across the region and you will need to regularly travel to different sites.


Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications:-
Essential:-
Knowledge of the rail industry and rail standards.
Knowledge of management systems and ideally 9001, 14001 and 18001.
Excellent IT skills.
Good analytical skills.
Experience in audit and report writing.
Excellent influencing, customer focus and communication skills.
Flexible and able to work in isolation and in a team environment.

Desirable:-
Internal auditor trained and qualified
Lead auditor trained and qualified (preferably to ISO 9001)
A broad understanding of infrastructure products and materials
Commercial awareness
Experience of Quality Assurance activities and techniques
Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 and other applicable management systems
