Project Controls Manager


If you're an experienced Project Controls Manager there is a wonderful new opportunity to work in an award-winning, global designing, engineering and management consultancy on a contract basis. They are currently requiring a Projects Control Manager in Ulverston to join their Environment Business division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various teams and ongoing projects within the Chemical and Pharmaceutical sectors. You will be managing the delivery of projects, providing contract administration support, monitoring compliance (with contract obligations) and expected to use own knowledge and experience to review and analyse project controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within established systems to independently produce schedules and cost plans and track and manage budgets, highlighting variances to produce management information
  • Present any project risks or issues to senior managers to ensure the project is not adversely impacted, and ensure the delivery of project controls is compliant to standards
  • Liaise and collaborate with clients and stakeholders, to ensure all parties are informed and aware of project progress and expectations
  • Advise senior management on issues relating to project controls, providing subject matter advice to support successful delivery in line with project objectives and strategies
  • Analyse and review a range of data to identify key existing and emerging themes and trends. Use own and others' analysis to provide recommendations that support project decision-making.

Candidate Specification:

  • Experience in managing business relationships at management level
  • Must have relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Relevant business experience across multiple sectors
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders
  • Expert level expertise in service capability
  • Knowledge of own community managed and an understanding of service and business lines
  • Relevant professional qualification or chartered status
  • Experience in management of small to medium sized project (AKA 'core' sized projects) and experience in major projects and programmes
