Project Manager £43'000 - £48'000 per annum

Working with an established civils contractor, I am now looking for a project manager with experience of section 38 and section 104, adoptive sewer and road construction projects within estates and commercial areas. As the successful candidate, you will ensure the successful completion of projects for the contractor by achieving acceptable financial outcomes, whilst maintaining and improving client relationships, and adherence to the policies of the client. This role would suit candidates looking to progress up the ladder from engineering or site management into project management. You will also show an appreciation of setting out on various projects, and run multiple contracts at the same time.

Key responsibilities:

Ensure timely methodology selection and preparation and completion of Method Statements, Risk and COSHH Assessments, and permits to work;

Assist with setting out duties on projects, advising site personnel of any new activities with setting out roles.

Reporting monthly to Director on the project cost value and progress against programme;

Ensure safe systems of work and adherence to Company Health and Safety Policy;

develop and manage the Project Management Plan;

Ownership, leadership and promotion of project compliance with the Specification and the Company Policies for Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and sustainability issues;

Develop supply chain relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors for the benefit of the project and future contracts including Manage subcontractor operations and coordination and holding collaborative meetings;

Experience and Qualifications:

  • HNC/ relevant qualification or degree educated in Civil Engineering
  • Previous, relevant experience in a management role in road and sewer construction and maintenance
  • Section 38 (Roads) and Section 104 (Sewers) construction, refurbishment and renewals
  • Takes responsibility for own priorities and encourages others to do the same by setting an example for desired performance
  • Sets clear goals and holds self and others accountable to delivering excellent performance
  • Challenges systems, processes and behaviours which conflict with our values and deals promptly and effectively with business and team issues
