Duration - 12 Months (Minimum)

Location - North of England / M62 Corridor

Rate - Up to £300 Day rate (Experience Dependant)

The client is an independent multi-disciplinary consultancy who offer a range services that include Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Design and CDM Services. With offices in Liverpool, Manchester and London, they are looking for a Project Manager who has worked on various projects within the Rail Sector with both Pre and Post Contract experience to cover a number of high profile projects across the North of England (M62 Corridor).

Due to successful growth and major key project wins, we are currently looking for a talented Project Manager with both Pre and Post Contract experience who will be responsible for end to end service delivery in respect to large and complex commissions. The successful Project Manager will act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that the clients objectives are met through delivery of a value added, project management service.

The successful candidate will have gained experience working as a Project Manager ideally in a client facing role or for another Consultancy/PQS organisation, although this is not essential, but should be competent when it comes to the delivery projects in both a Pre and Post Contract manner.

Responsibilities - Project Manager

  • Planning and sequencing activities required to deliver the project scope and developing the project schedule
  • Developing Resource Plans and ensuring each Project Team member's full involvement during the development of the project
  • Establishing the cost estimate for the project in line with the budget expectations including setting an appropriate level of risk provision or contingency
  • Leading and motivating the project team to achieve the project objectives, managing conflict and day to day welfare and performance of the Project Implementation Team members.
  • Ensures that all appropriate technical standards are applied during the project implementation
  • Monitoring, controlling and reporting on project progress including providing regular, timely, accurate, progress reports, cash flow and cost of completion forecasts to the Project Sponsor
  • Co-ordinating design reviews and approvals between owner and contractors
  • Ensuring safety, security and environmental aspects of the project are clearly understood and adhered to, including ensuring the project is compliant with CDM regulations and other application health and safety legislation

Key Requirements - Project Manager

  • Relevant degree and membership of relevant professional institutes / bodies
  • Competent in the use of the Microsoft suite of products
  • Strong knowledge of best practice project management methods and techniques
  • Experience in civils/infrastructure / highways or rail structures project delivery
  • Up to date HSEQ knowledge and experience
  • Good Commercial Management and financial management skills
  • APM or chartered surveyor
  • NEC3 ECC contract familiarity
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently
  • Track record of successful project delivery
