Project Manager Signalling and E&P

Our client, a multi-disciplined rail contractor is looking for Project Manager

E&P or Signalling Rail Engineering Background (Multi-skilled Ideally)

Carried out rail Signalling and E&P site works of various differing types across Network Rail Infrastructure

ONC / HNC / Degree in Electrical Engineering

A good understanding of Rail E&P and Signalling assets including:-

  • Signalling Power Supplies of Various Voltages
  • TN / IT / Class II Systems
  • Earthing and Bonding Arrangements
  • Point Heating
  • Level Crossing Lighting
  • Shore Supplies
  • Station Lighting
  • Transformers
  • Electrical Loadings of Rail Assets
  • Special Inspections Notices applicable to E&P Assets
  • Equipotential Bonding of Assets
  • Walkway Lighting
  • Junction Lighting
  1. A very good understanding of Signalling and Signalling Power Systems and the affect's on the Signalling System.
  2. Understands when and where Non Conceptual Design process can be used.
  3. Able to read E&P and Signalling Drawings and use the information from the drawings as required within tender submissions.
  4. Up to speed on the latest NR Standards for all E&P Assets
  5. Understands how the various parts of Network Rail works, how they are funded and how they interface with one another including RAM Team / Operations / Maintenance / Works Delivery / Investment Projects.
  6. Good communicator who understands the issues that Network Rail Engineers suffer and be able to propose solutions to them.
  7. Excellent skills in writing PQQ's and Technical Methodologies for Tenders.
  8. Excellent presentation skills both putting together PowerPoint Presentations for tenders and presenting as and when required.
  9. Capable of putting together a Cost to Complete Programme for their Projects.
  10. Manage Projects robustly to ensure they are delivered safely, at the right quality whilst achieving the financial targets.
  11. Attend CVR's and be able to explain all costs on the project identifying potential savings and gains.
  12. Able to read P6 Primavera Programmes
  13. Produce Periodic Reports for the client on their projects.
  14. Capable of managing various differing projects at one time.
  15. Good Leadership Skills
  16. Able to drive a delivery team to achieve the desired results
