The Client

My client is a £13bn real estate business with an actively managed portfolio of high-quality assets in great locations.

They specialise in commercial property in central London, prime retail across the country and offshore wind. They also have a substantial rural and coastal portfolio and manage the seabed and around England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Established by an Act of Parliament as an independent commercial business, they return all their profit to HM Treasury, totalling £2.6bn over the last ten years. They have also outperformed the market for nearly a decade.

The Role:

Project Manager:

Job objectives:

  • To ensure the delivery of a programme of pre-leasing activity and tender of lease options for UK offshore wind development rights, on time and on budget, upholding the high level of integrity warranted for a high profile, competitive process of national significance.
  • To drive direction, purpose and energy into the delivery process, engaging the direct and wider team, and upholding the high standards expected of the business when dealing with external parties, including with governments, stakeholders and market participants.
  • Provide assurance as necessary for a robust high profile procurement process involving a spectrum of stakeholders both internally and externally, in relation to the Management of project plan and budget for the business's new offshore wind leasing programme, ensuring the initegrity of both tools.
  • Provide best-in-class skill and expertise in the management of financial, schedule, risk, quality, document management, and change control strategies and processes.
  • Provide guidance to the Project & Document Co-ordinator in delivering document management activities in relation to the new leasing programme.

Candidate specification

Knowledge and experience essential to fulfil the requirements of the post

  • Experience of project managing complex and multi-disciplinary projects (project management accreditation desirable).
  • Excellent working knowledge of project management tools, techniques and processes including Microsoft Project.
  • Highly numerate and able to manipulate spreadsheets for the purposes of financial & budget management.
  • Experience of developing and managing risk registers, and an ability to communicate these to all management levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of the energy sector would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience of procurement would be beneficial but not essential.
