Project Engineer Required - Derby - Water / Infrastructure Industry - Start ASAP - Temporary & Permanent Vacancies Considered (£280.00 to £350.00 Per Day or £40,000 to £50,000 Per Annum - Rates Are Negotiable!)

Our client, a large Construction/Civil Engineering Contractor, is currently searching for a Project Engineer in the Derby area, to work on relevant projects within the Water sector (Infrastructure Industry). Our client is currently open to consider both temporary and permanent workers, who have relevant experience within the Water / Civil Engineering / Infrastructure industries and long term or permanent work can be offered in this role. Duties will include visiting local projects across the East Midlands, running through planned works with project teams, exploring current designs and highlighting design issues that need to be amended. In this role, you will be responsible for the outline and detailed civil design of Non-Infrastructure Water projects as part of Severn Trent Water's AMP 6 programme.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of civil general arrangement drawings.
  • Interpretation of ground investigation reports.
  • Selection and appraisal of suppliers and their design submissions.
  • Preparation of documentation in accordance with the CDM regulations.
  • Identification of the temporary works requirements of the permanent works design.
  • Preparing and maintaining the project programme from feasibility to site start.
  • Liaison with Client throughout the life of the project.
  • Liaison and arrangements with third parties (e.g. local Council, Environment Agency, other utilities)
  • Co-ordination of design at all stages.
  • Attendance at design, progress and site meetings as required.
  • Maintaining the quality of work produced (yourself or by junior staff under your guidance) in accordance with company and Severn Trent Water procedures.
  • Reporting into the overall Project Manager.

Candidates will ideally have:

  • Experience in CAD (Including 3D Civils and Revit)
  • Knowledge of Severn Trent Water and their ways of working
  • Experience of working in the water industry
  • Relevant qualifications.
