Product Based Delivery Engineer (Water)


Salary £35,000 £45,000 per annum plus car, package and benefits

I am currently on the lookout for a Product Based Delivery Engineer who will work in the Anglian Water @one Alliance partnership based at our client's co-located offices in Peterborough. The key accountability is the ability to manage the delivery of the relevant products to time and cost.

To drive an innovative technical approach through others to achieve capital efficiencies. Other key aspects include production of all required deliverables to enable the development of standard products and management of technical personnel to produce technical drawings.

Role Summary

  • Delivery programmes
  • Financial justification calculations (support and training will be provided)
  • Technical calculations (discipline experts are available to support in this function)
  • Technical reports
  • Management of technical personnel to produce technical drawings.
  • To make presentations of standard products at various levels in the Alliance.
  • Promote the use of off-site manufacturing and identify other areas of savings for the business.
  • To critically evaluate features and benefits in standard product reviews.
  • To be commercially aware and maintain competitive advantage until a formal commercial strategy is agreed and implemented.
  • Report to the Product-based Delivery Board to drive forward the development of AMP6 Standard Products for infrastructure and non-infrastructure that will deliver value to the business.
  • Work with the relevant individuals across the business to develop innovative fit for purpose Standard Products, in line with task briefs provided.
  • Continually ensure the Products are peer reviewed by all the relevant people within the business. These include AW Operations, relevant Discipline Heads, Design Managers and the Alliance Engineering Manager. Ensure Product outputs are of
  • a high quality and deliverables are ready for bi-monthly Asset Standards Forum Approvals.
  • Participate in regular progress meetings with the Product board to discuss task brief progress, ideas and any blockers.
  • Identify areas for innovation and continuous improvement when developing standard products that will enable the @one Alliance to deliver its key targets; 22.5% affordability challenge, 60% reduction in embodied carbon (against a 2013
  • baseline) and 7% operational carbon (in real terms by 2020 from a 2015 baseline)
  • Work closely with the Procurement and Supply Chain teams and Anglian Waters Engineering Standards Project Manager to ensure that the approach towards Productisation and Standardisation is consistent and understood by all.
  • Working closely with the Category Buyer build an understanding of cost drivers and input pricing to establish if cost/pricing models are sustainable.
  • Be aware of the framework plan and ensure the product development plan is aligned with the framework award
  • Support the procurement team in technical reviews when implementing and reviewing product frameworks
  • Work with Innovation Lead and Sustainability Champions to productise successful trials and actively be involved in trailing innovations or new products on the market.
  • Work with all programme areas to encourage the use of Standard Products and any feedback on them. Ensure this feedback is captured and acted upon. Chase Standard Product improvements from both the design office and from site.
  • Work with other areas of the business to deliver AMP6 standard products, including the IRIS team, to ensure products reflect the current Asset Monitoring Frameworks and the AW Signal Provision Standard.
  • Work with other areas of Anglian Water to expand the benefits of standard products across the business (e.g. Maintenance Team, Operations Team etc).
