Principal Maritime Structural Engineer
Fareham - Hampshire
Permanent - Salary to be confirmed

Anderselite are seeking a Principal Maritime Structural Engineer to work in Fareham on a Permanent basis. The purpose of the role is to provide project design and management services for the Maritime Team and others.

Ideal candidate;
You have a minimum of 10 years design experience
You are proficient in the use of structural design software and AutoCAD
You are results orientated and have a proven track record of client and customer satisfaction

You will be;
Leading the team to successfully, safely and efficiently deliver projects to the client's expectations.
Lead the team on preparing innovative and accurate design and project management services on large single and multi-disciplinary projects, predominantly waterside developments for our maritime team.
Assist with the business development for the team; helping to secure work for the local teams and UK Sectors.

Project and client management;

Assist with the management of projects, including the proactive and timely reporting to the client; ensuring projects follow defined processes and procedures as determined by the company.
Work with the Project Director and UK Sector Leaders to co-ordinate the delivery of the projects, ensuring all the Engineers are aware of their client's expectations.
Support and develop the Maritime Team's Project Managers via appropriate training, coaching and mentoring.
Manage project sub-consultants and suppliers where required by the scheme.
Works supervision & administration.
Work with the Project Director and UK Sector Leaders, in engaging with current and new clients, attending regular meetings to determine current and future requirements.
Regularly communicate with, and seek feedback from, clients and project teams, reflecting on the performance of one's self and the team and apply learning and improvement principles.
Provide excellent communication skills and relationship building skills that continuously enhances the company's credibility.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing;
Ensure that all projects and activities have an approved safety plan and that health and safety issues are managed through the project plan.
All aspects of the site and work will be completed and consistent with the agreed Safety Plan.
Identify appropriate training requirements for your role and participate in appropriate training.
Ensure that hazards arising from, or associated with project or activities undertaken are identified, reported and managed including self-management where appropriate.
Read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety.
Ensure Emergency procedures are understood and followed.
Contribute on an on-going basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity.
Through the formal Performance Review process, establish personal development needs/goals.
Regularly reflect on your successes and disappointments and ensure that your service delivery is improved through on-going innovation and adopting new practices. Share these findings with your team members.
Keep up to date with developments in the relevant professional area; keep professional registrations and licences current.

Preferable skills and Qualifications:
Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
Chartered Engineer status, ICE or IStructE
Good analytical skills and attention to detail
Able to motivate and inspire the surrounding team
Strong organisational ability to optimise and prioritise conflicting demands in a busy environment, to achieve deadlines and see responsibilities through to completion.
Excellent self-management skills, including working effectively without direct supervision, managing and organising fluctuating workloads in sometimes stressful situations.
Ability to work effectively and competently with people at all levels in the organisation.
