Job description

We are glad to support a leading consultancy company, operating in the infrastructure sector, in the search for a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment Coordinator. The role will be based in Edinburgh.

The company is one of the leading suppliers of consulting and infrastructure support services in the UK, and with offices internationally and they work across a variety of different sectors including Highways, Rail, Local Authority and Utilities.

As the Principal Environmental Impact Assessment Coordinator, you will be a technical lead for the environmental and sustainability teams engaged in the delivery of various projects in the infrastructure, utilities, local government and professional services.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordination of a team of Senior Environmental and Landscaping specialists to ensure the successful delivery of the respective project deliverables.
  • Overseeing the production and producing of technically sound environmental solutions, that comply with the technical standards and client requirements.
  • Providing environmental advice in support to the bidding process.
  • Developing and managing environmental and landscaping studies and impact assessments.
  • Advising on environmental and sustainability aspects of the projects including: EMS, environmental studies, environmental risks, environmental assessment, environmental mitigation design etc

Qualifications requirements:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in an appropriate subject
  • Recognised professional qualifications such as:
    • Chartered Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment; or another equivalent qualification with substantial experience relevant to the provision and performance of the Services.
  • UK driving licence
  • Computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS office suite
  • High level technical skills, with the ability to lead technical teams and High-level communication skills
  • Substantial experience of dealing with clients, suppliers, developers, consultants, elected representatives and the public
