Job description

My clients are recruiting for a Pre-Construction Manager based in St Albans. They will be involved in the full lifecycle from Pre- tender, during tender period and post tender.

Duties are as follows:

Pre- tender

  • Consult with Business Development and customers on the programme for tenders (track opportunities) Chase the Scheme intelligence
  • Agree key support required - Designers, Key Subcontractors, consultants?
  • Agree bid internal team
  • Meet customer as required.

Tender period

  • Review tender documents and identify key actions
  • Produce tender programme
  • Arrange site visit if required
  • Ensure H&S, Environmental and Sustainability information is available to be incorporated within our tender.
  • Arrange all necessary internal meetings - Launch / mid tender/Settlement etc.
  • Chair meetings with clear action lists and ensure they are carried out Confirm/lssue Ops / Commercial / Temp Works / Specialist third party briefs incorporating Estimator / Planner requirements Agree Tender Strategy
  • Agree Communication strategy with Customer / Employers Agent Prepare team for tender interviews if required
  • Decide what queries we raise (or not raise) in line with the tender strategy
  • Agree external communication strategy with Third Parties such as stats Confirm designers brief
  • Appointment of specialist third parties such as behavioural coaches Co-ordinate input / review of suppliers to receive tender enquiries
  • Attend meetings with key subcontractors if critical to strategy
  • Manage commercial support requirements
  • Ensure Risk / Opportunity schedule is in place that includes commercial opportunities
  • Ensuring that the correct resources for the Quality Submission are in place and that timescales are met.
  • Review the Quality Submission

Post Tender

  • Coordinate answers to post tender questions.
  • Agree strategy for post tender replies
  • Arrange and co-ordinate post-tender meetings / interviews with the Customer / Employers Agent
  • Prepare team for any post tender interview if required
  • Tender feedback and dissemination once the result is known
  • Handover to the project delivery team
