Possessions Planner Required - Permanent Role (Ideally) - Rail Sector - Midlands then Milton Keynes Based - Interview/Start ASAP - Salary circa £37,000 to £45,000 Per Annum.

Our client, a large national Construction/Civil Engineering/Rail contractor, working as part of the East West Rail Alliance Phase 2 (EWR2), is currently looking for a Possessions Planner to join their Track Access scheme, ideally on a permanent basis. The role with entail working on the £1+ Billion East West Rail scheme, which consists of upgrading the rail lines between Oxford to Bedford (from track, to bridges and stations etc). Initially, whilst the project is in design phase and before the construction begins, you will be based out of our clients Birmingham Office, before moving to be site based (Milton Keynes area) in 6-12 months. Aside from having experience within the Rail sector, responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the Programme through integration from Long Term through to Short Term timescales and representation at the varied Network Rail meetings.
  • Ensure that all worksites are planned in accordance with HSQE procedures.
  • Preparation of worksites in PPS ensuring mileage limits, isolation, protection, machinery, trains and tampers are correct and concise to conform with scheduled daily/weekly activities.
  • Booking TSR's when required.
  • Involvement in Tamper & Train Planning / Pathing both internally and externally to ensure Production requirements are met to conform with the Programme needs. Provide Possession information to assist fellow Planner
  • Adhering to the NR Planning Process/ Rules Of The Route/ PPS Submissions/Business Case Submissions/Isolation planning etc.
  • Understanding the Programme requirements. Use of negotiation skills with NR & 3rd Party Contractors to achieve best possible results
  • Ensure my ability to be available to liaise with Planning team, Construction, other Contractors and Network Rail
  • Ensuring the Reporting process is followed through by making sure that any shortfalls or changes are re-planned but keeping Plan updated with a true reflection of the of the Programme.
  • Keeping the Box Plan updated accordingly
  • Creating & Updating Planning Forecast & Review Document (IPPF)
  • Chairing Planning Forecast & Review Meeting (IPPF)
  • Keeping P3 Updated accordingly by feeding it with the information it requires.
  • Feeding the relevant information to complete the Contractor Race Card.
  • Actively seek and provide feedback to and from the Construction/Production Teams.
  • Communicate all worksite details required to the Construction Teams via weekly briefings.
  • Communicate and relevant changes to the SSOW Planner
  • Be conscious of the allocated budget, ensure costs are contained within it and limit further expenditure.
  • Manage the NR interfaces in a professional manner and enhance the principal contractors' reputation.
  • Ensure Planning Operational issues are in hand, requesting Signal Boxes to be manned, following through Section A, Section C and Section D Notifications are in place
