Job description

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, successful and busy civil engineering and construction company that is intricately involved in the UK water industry and a top tier framework alliance partner to United Utilities, Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent Water to name a few.

They have a requirement for an experienced Construction Planner to be based in Peterborough and work on their innovative and highly successful Anglian Water framework - a relationship now confirmed will 2030. The main purpose of this role is to provide and maintain robust plans and drive the core delivery team to deliver the project on time in alignment with the agreed delivery strategy. These projects will primarily be water treatment plants, pumping stations and associated underground infrastructure.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include:

* Provide robust challenge to the delivery team in relation to project performance
* Ensure planning practices and standards are consistent across each individual project
* Lead the Plan for Stage process including development of robust delivery plans and understand constraints and sequences
* Provide intelligence on project delivery to facilitate better decision making
* Production of the required project reports including identification of project risks and opportunities
* Responsible for the implementation of Alliance planning polices and procedures as defined by the Planning Manager
* Responsible for the production and look ahead meeting/process to ensure it is robustly and consistently applied across all projects
* Using a collaborative approach, create and maintain robust resource & cost loaded plans for all projects in the programme
* Pro-actively produce what if scenarios to identify delivery improvement opportunities or the development of mitigation plans
* Resource load plans in collaboration with the lead disciplines to provide programme wide visibility of resource demand
* Ensure the importance of the critical path activities and the sensitivity of other activities are communicated to the relevant stakeholders and these are being acted on by the delivery team

To be considered a relevant applicant for this role you will need the following attributes:


* Experienced Planner in the industrial construction environment, ideally on water / wastewater projects
* Experience of P6
* Effective communicator
* Pro-active team member
