Job description

We are recruiting a Planner in the Central London area for one of our rail infrastructure clients.

Key focus of the role is to Assist the Planning Manager in meeting project requirements, including:

  • Provide planning for a multi-disciplinary programme development in conjunction with subcontractors and other stakeholders;
  • Scope out methods statements, Inspection and test plans, consents, permits assurance and stakeholder requirements;
  • Prepare reports in accordance with the weekly and periodic programme submittals;
  • Identify and show impact of the change events;
  • Work with relevant team members and aid in issuing relevant communication, early warnings or instructions;
  • Identify programme trends and issues, propose mitigation through scenario planning to support the project team;

Responsibilities will include:

  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by the contract and the Planning Manager and maintain updates as required;
  • Produce look ahead programmes and incorporate updates from the delivery team.
  • Obtain feedback from site teams on planning adequacy and update programme data accordingly
  • Load resources and allocate costs in Primavera P6 and other software as required.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure consistency of key assumptions on methodology and Outputs.
  • Produce reports for the business and senior management as required by the Planning Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • HND - HNC or equivalent in a construction or related discipline. A lower educational level combined with extensive relevant experience in a similar role would meet this requirement.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body - member or associate member level.
  • Extensive experience of planning, cost and resource loading utilising Primavera P6 software.
  • Construction and planning experience on large civil works.
  • Knowledge of NEC3 Contracts and their administration and implementation.
