PAYROLL CLERK - SKIPTON, NORTH YORKS

I am currently looking for a Payroll Clerk for a leading civil engineering and construction company mainly operating within the water industry and directly employing over 1000 people. They are a business who believes in investing in employees with over £1m spent on training and development last year.

Job Description

The Payroll department are looking for an additional member due to growth. They have approximately 1400 staff of which around 600 are weekly paid, with the remainder being monthly paid staff. This role will predominantly involve the weekly paid staff payroll process with some assistance and support surrounding the monthly paid staff. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy yet rewarding environment.

The Payroll Clerk Position will collate information, run and process the weekly payroll production using our in-house system by working closely with the HR team, finance department and managers across the business. This includes

Preparing and processing weekly payroll for approximately 600 employees
Calculating travel and fares payments
Calculating and processing statutory payments
Ensuring court orders are processed in a timely manner
Manually checking payslips to ensure correct information
Issuing payslips
Processing Leavers and issuing P45's
Processing Holiday pay
Submitting RTI
Dealing with weekly paid employees and site managers to resolve payroll queries.
To provide cover and assistance for staff payroll on an adhoc basis.?
Any other related adhoc projects and work as required.
Candidate Specification
Essential experience required
Experience of Payroll & HMRC Processes is essential

Experience of payroll systems
Ability to communicates as all levels
Ability to work to tight deadlines & under pressure
