Job Title: Payments Clerk
Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 plus package
Are you an experienced payment's clerk looking for a new role? You will be responsible for processing a high volume of supplier invoices and subcontractor payments ensuring accuracy & timeliness by adhering to payment policies.
Role & Responsibilities
Data entry of invoices onto the in-house computer system in a timely and accurate manner
Ensure all payments are covered by an official order and that details of applications accord with such orders
Updating authenticated receipts
Maintain reconciliation reports with suppliers
Process in-coming post and receipts prioritising urgent matters where appropriate
Handle telephone enquiries concerning payments and receipts
Maintain an accurate and efficient filing and archive system.
Photocopying, as required.
Carrying out adhoc tasks as requested by the Commercial Manager
Ensuring a familiarity with the companies Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedure to comply with employee responsibilities
Implementing new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the commercial team
Experience working in a similar environment (house building or general contractor) within an accounts/ commercial department
Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Xperion
Excellent analytical skills and organisation
Good Maths and IT skills
Ability to work in an organised manner making sure all paperwork is filed
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work to high degree of accuracy
