Our client, a leading contractor within the Drainage sector is currently looking for Project Lead (Highways), to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will manage highways projects from inception through to completion, where workload entails surveying highways drainage systems to OS19x Pipe Sewer Condition Classification, overseeing the creation and submission of drainage data reports. You will be responsible for managing workload, overseeing site activity, ensuring works at delivered as required, as well as developing client relationships.

In time, you will be able to grow and manage a team around you, as you see fit, also developing business with new and existing clients. This role will present and excellent opportunity for future growth and will suit a motivated candidate, who is looking to develop and manage a team in the future.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with the end client to ensure projects are managed from enquiry to data completion stages.
  • Undertaking site visits and client meetings.
  • Liaising with in-house teams to ensure drainage data is collected, at set locations, as required
  • Formulating price-based delivery models, based on desktop studies or information obtained from site visits.
  • Overall being responsible for helping to ensure all parties are compliant, within set regulations
  • Formulating RAMS and Methodology based on desktop studies or information obtained from site visits or client requirements.
  • Generating and managing working programs for all key stakeholders including clients.
  • Supporting the bid and tender process, contributing to pricing and methodologies where required.
  • Communicating project principles and goals, to site crews, ensuring delivery objectives are understood and met by field resource.
  • Working with the wider data team (internally), to ensure data and reports are created, collated and submitted to the clients, ensuring all data is fully understood by the client, meeting all set specifications.
  • Supporting the invoice process and helping to resolve any invoice queries.
  • Understanding and conveying compensation events & early warnings with the end client, where projects vary from initial scope or where commercial recompenses are required.
  • Innovating and refining service offering through improving internal process to benefit operational delivery and client management
  • Supporting the operational, field resource and data teams with technical queries
  • Supporting clients and key stakeholders in relation to the technical delivery of projects
  • Generating and developing methodologies for submission to client or internal stakeholders.
  • Promoting Heath and Safety, ensuring processes are adhered to, through project delivery.
  • Undertaking monthly site audits on site.

The role will enable you to:

  • Develop and grow a team, shaping the business unit in the future.
  • Highlight and develop areas of growth in the future, working with the Senior Management team to create business cases and tender/bid proposals.
  • Be the main point of contact for Highways projects, enquiries and all related site resources.
  • Gain support and training from the wider Operations team, helping to facilitate programmes of work, once work has been won.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Have previously worked within the highways drainage sector, understanding Pipe Sewer Condition Classifications.
  • Be able to analyse data and create client reports.
  • Hold an OS19x certificate. (Or similar)
  • Have working knowledge of (including but not limited to): WinCan, HADDMS, MSCC, WITA, GIS etc.
  • Be motivated to develop and grow a team in the future, taking control of a new business unit in time.
  • Have a good attention to detail and be all-round analytically minded.
  • Have strong social / relationship building skills.
