Operations Manager

Location: Portishead, Bristol

Salary: Negotiable and dependant on experience package will include (Fully expensed company car, pension, 25 days hols (plus ability to buy/sell), bonus scheme, flexible working policy).

My client one of the UK's leading brownfield and contaminated land remediation, enabling and environmental contractors are looking to recruit an operations manager to ruin their southern area.

Reporting to the Managing Director, they are looking for an experienced Operations Manager, ideally from a remediation contractor background. With exposure to a wide variety of remediation technologies, you will be working on a diverse range of remediation projects for clients across the UK.

You will be ultimately responsible for health & safety, commercial performance, programme, compliance with contract specification and all applicable legislation for your projects. You may have a number of Site Managers reporting to you at any one time.

You would work closely with our Operations Manager based in the North with the coordination and control of operations across the company.

We are looking for extensive experience of;

  1. Health and safety management, ensuring all operations are maintained and delivered in accordance with H&S legislation and company best practice
  2. Co-ordination of projects, including programming, planning, managing the site team
  3. Working on varying construction contracts including NEC
  4. Commercial management of projects - including cost forecasts and monitoring

Qualifications, Attributes & Experience required:

  1. Relevant degree
  2. 10 years + experience
  3. Advanced MS office including project related programmes
  4. Strong understating of remediation projects
  5. Good understanding of contract documentation
  6. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  7. Able to delegate responsibilities effectively
  8. Able to multi task
  9. Good dispute resolution skills
  10. Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
