Job description

We are currently working with a leading Facilities & Security business to recruit an Area Operations Control Manager for a large site in Leeds.

This will involve managing a team of Area Operations Controllers and Administrators to ensure consistent achievement of service delivery targets within the Contract and operational management. The position holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with business systems.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
▪ Continually review overall performance of the Control Centre to ensure that Service Levels and Operational Strategy are being met.
▪ Ensure that the following responsibilities of an Area Operations Controllers are delivered in line with the requirements of the contract:

  1. ▪ Populating the forward rosters for each site a minimum of 4 weeks in advance
  2. ▪ Deployment of Security Officers to cover short term unplanned absence and additional staffing requirements
  3. ▪ Updating Officers skills codes in line with contract requirements
  4. ▪ Producing management information on a daily / weekly basis covering dropped shifts, Security Officer unplanned absence, variances in the cost of security officer deployment compared with the plan, Security Officer absence records, Service Representative deployment
  5. ▪ Managing the approval process for security officer annual leave
  6. ▪ Resolution of Security Officer pay queries.
  7. ▪ Ensure CE's are processed and rosters amended to reflect requirements.

▪ Identify Operator training needs to ensure training/coaching is provided.
▪ Ensure maintenance of the Company's business process documentation held at the Control Centre and that all staff are fully conversant with any additions or amendments.
▪ Ensure backup documentation and systems are up to date and that all staff are fully conversant with backup procedures.
▪ Continually identify improvement opportunities and best practice ensuring they are implemented throughout the business along with appropriate measurement tools.
▪ Provision of data and performance statistics to assist all parts of the business
▪ Liaise with Senior Management team and Regional Managers to highlight performance issues and ensure communications flows are maintained
▪ Responsible for ensuring the Resourcing Officer is advised of all vacancies and assist in early identification of possible recruitment challenges
▪ Internal HR responsibility to manage the AOC team in line with the policy guidelines ensuring key deliverables are met
▪ Ensure physical environment for AOC team is safe and fit for purpose and act as point of coordination for team related H&S management and information exchange
▪ Manage administration support requests to ensure HR & admin processes relating to all staff are actioned in a timely manner and within GDPR guidelines
▪ Management of On-Call Rota. This will include taking part in the rota as part of the senior management team
▪ Financial reporting/awareness - Provide relevant reporting to commercial team to allow billing of additional work requests.
▪ Undertake other reasonable general duties as requested by their line manager as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of managing a Security Control Centre
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimal intervention
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse workload and priorities
  • Advanced numerical and analytical skills

Desireable:

  • Thorough knowledge of company systems and procedures
  • Project management experience
  • Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of the patrol and response industry
