Job description

NEC 4 - Contract Management/Drafting
A client of ours is looking for professionals with NEC 4 contract experience to assist them in turning their scope of works into NEC 4 language.

Due to most people working from home now this would suit someone set up to do so and with their own LTD company.

Essential:
* Self-starter
* Work from home with minimum of supervision using Microsoft 365 and Teams
* Experienced in tunnels, bridges, viaducts, highways and major structures
* NEC suite of contracts, ideally NEC4
* Understand the composition of NEC - COC, Scope, Site Info etc
* Can write all sections of contracts but mainly Scope (Works Information) sections of contracts - a technical author or good contract administrator or SQS, commercial manager
* Looking for drafters and proofer/editor to bring up to NEC standard

Preferred:
Familiar with Highways England version of the NEC contract set up Contract admin, commercial and project management.

Location:
Mainly from home but some meetings in Central London (if possible)

Duration:
3-6 months initially

Key Responsibilities
* Assisting in the drafting NEC4 and bespoke contracts
* Assisting in negotiating best for joint venture risk profiles
* Assisting in supporting rigorous and effective risk management across the business through the provision of seminars and internal training events
* Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the companys operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Thorough knoweldge and experience of NEC suite of contracts, particularly NEC 4.
* Experience in arbitration would be beneficial
* Degree (or equivalent in Quantity Surveying) OR Degree in Law with non-contentious experience within infrastructure
* MRICS / LLB
