Job description

I am currently looking to recruit a Multi-Utilities Business Development Manager (Electrical / Gas & Water) to join a very well established Utility Infrastructure Provider based in East Anglia.

We are ideally looking for a highly motivated individual with proven experience of operating within the Multi-Utilities, however we would consider someone keen to move into Utilities as long as you have a Civil Engineering background.

Main Responsibilities:

* Improve the Company's market position and achieve financial growth within the new utilities connections sector

* Develop and build new customer relationships/new business in line with overall company strategy and associated sales targets amongst potential property developer clients and consultants

* Help manage existing customer relationships to ensure they stay satisfied and positive

Specific Tasks:

* Research and source prospective new clients via various media

* Identify key decision makers within the client organisation

* Contact suitable potential customers/decision makers directly by telephone to arrange mutually convenient appointments/meetings to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities

* Present the companies service/product during appointments/meetings with new customers

* Follow up all appointments/meetings, and maintain contact on a regular basis

* Identify other methods of generating leads/enquiries i.e. mailer/advertising, and to organise, manage implementation, and to successfully convert enquiries into appointments/meetings

* Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators

* Draw upon internal expertise as and when needed to ensure client goals can be achieved

* Assist with maintenance of existing customer relationships, involving appointments to discuss progress and performance; handling objections by clarifying, emphasising agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion

* Compile and maintain on an on-going basis a data base of existing and potential new customer contacts

* Report weekly to the Managing Director

* Provide a weekly forecast of potential new projects, including revenue values

* Attend internal Management Meetings as and when necessary

* To comply with all company policies, systems and procedures
