Job description

I have an excellent opportunity for a Multi-Utilities Business Development Consultant, to join a well-established UIP (Utility Infrastructure Provider), based in Northamptonshire.

This is a key role within the business and presents an opportunity to join an expanding commercial team.

As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, whilst implementing and developing key sales strategies.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Generating new business opportunities
  • Keeping up to date with industry knowledge
  • Liaising with clients, utility companies and providers, whilst maintaining strong working relationships to ensure the service provided is suitable for the client's needs, cost and time restraints, encouraging repeat business
  • Submitting applications, requesting quotations, creating and issuing budget and firm proposals

Key Skills/ experience that are required for this role:

  • Proven experience working within a Business Development position or a similar role which involves sales, liaising with clients and working in a customer focused environment
  • Fully conversant with the industry standards, practices and procedures
  • It is desirable that you have previous Multi-Utilities experience within Electrical, Gas and Water
  • A good understanding of the Utilities Industry and the company's competitors
  • Have a strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions and the impact it will have on project delivery
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Have good communication skills - verbal and written
  • Full UK driving licence
