Salary: Negotiable on relevant industry experience (Circa £45,000 to £50,000 Per Annum)

Our client, a large Civil Engineering contractor who operate within the Clean Water & Waste-Water industry, is currently looking for an M&E Project Engineer Site Manager to join their team, ideally on a permanent basis, to help deliver projects within the Water industry (Framework Projects).

Overall the role will include reporting into a Project Manager, supporting the wider Project Delivery Team, being accountable for the delivery of Mechanical & Electrical installations, predominantly on projects within the Water sector, through the management of Mechanical & Electrical individuals, as well as subcontractors on site.

Day to day duties include but are not limited to the:

  • Outlining engineering processes, from inception to completion, of schemes utilising in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel.
  • Timely completion of multiple concurrent projects, safely and within budget.
  • Liaising with client's engineering and operations staff, to ensure KPI's are met or exceeded within budget constraints.
  • Attending internal and external review and progress meetings
  • Attending site visits/meetings.
  • Ascertaining preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions.
  • Preparing estimates and quotations for work.
  • Completing contract documentation required for overall project documentation.
  • Managing site safety, health and environmental issues.
  • Co-ordinating and liaising with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams.
  • Procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors.
  • Attending and undertaking factory site and works testing, commissioning and client training.
  • Compiling and collating final contract documentation, "As built" drawings, test sheets etc, for the inclusion into operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Responsibility for Profit/Loss on contracts undertaken.
  • Establishing and agreeing price variations and final accounts.

Candidates will ideally:

  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent.
  • Hold relevant site qualifications such as a CSCS Card, First Aid Certificate (ideal, not required).
  • Have previous experience delivering projects within the Water industry (Water Treatment, Sewage Treatment Works etc).
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Be commercial and contractually aware.
