Mechanical Building Services Engineer – Oxford – Construction – Hybrid –£40,000

Client
My client is a privately owned turnkey specialist design and construction company with a turnover of £10-£12M turnover and an excellent client base with strong order book The projects they undertake are centred around processes within a controlled environment such as Pharmaceuticals and Micro-Electronics.

Role & Duties
Hybrid role – 3 days working from home and 2 days on site.

They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to assist on their retrofit project in the Oxford area on a pharma plant. As a Mechanical Engineer, this role will be about the thermal performance of buildings and fluid mechanics, therefore a fundamental knowledge and experience in movement of air and water systems and design of these systems from, concept plans is essential.

• Working with high and low voltage equipment
• Designing systems and products using computer software
• Managing and maintaining building services.
• Drawing up project plans, making models, prototypes and circuit diagrams for high and low voltage electrical equipment
• Testing installations and systems
• Overseeing inspection and maintenance programmes
• Carry out the detailed design of all mechanical and electrical systems for major construction projects.
• Ensure that designs meet user requirements with regards to cost limits and time scales.
• Prepare technical specifications and schedules and design development reports.
• Comply with all relevant policy, standards and statutory legislation including quality management, customer services and equal opportunities.
• Co-ordinate with clients, other professions and members of the senior projects team.

Candidate
Candidates need to be happy doing the actual design – working with a senior designer and package manager in Mech & Elec teams
Experience in a Mechanical design role (Movement of Air and Fluids)
Knowledge of Amtech software desirable
Degree in Mechanical design engineering or similar – desirable.
