The Client

A Programme Management and Project Delivery Consultancy with a global presence. They have a number of key offices in the UK located in Manchester, Birmingham and London. An established consultancy offering services and resources to key clients in the construction and infrastructure sectors. They are recruiting for a Lead Quantity Surveyor to work on rail projects.

Duties

You will have overall responsibility for the management of commercial and contractual matters, ensuring the team are delivering projects on time and are meeting financial performance.

Management and supervision of the commercial function and employees, ensuring financial performance meets the targets set, whilst minimising risk.

· Pre and Post contract commercial management

· Issuing subcontract instructions.

· Applications for payment, including all contractual entitlements.

· Produce all relevant commercial data

· Risk Mitigation

· Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.

· Final accounts

· Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams.

· Forecasting

· Dispute management.

· Change management.

· Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms.

· Administration of NEC3/4 forms of contract, Option A & C

· Prompt submission of estimate / tendering information to the client.

· Prepare valuations / variations

· Prompt presentation of Final Accounts, including negotiation of all contractual entitlements.

· Ensure best practice in adherence to internal and external timescales in reporting and submissions ensuring contractual entitlement is achieved

· Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.

· Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.

· Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract Orders.

· Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements.

The Candidate

You will have strong commercial experience within the rail industry

You will have excellent motivational and influencing skills

Essential skill – You will be fully aware of the intricacies of NEC contracts and able to demonstrate significant experience of NEC contract administration.

Experience in NEC 3 / NEC 4 forms of contract, options A & C

You will be required to manage and set the expectations of internal and external stakeholders and project teams.

Experience in a client facing role or experience working with a large client or local authority would be beneficial

Experience working with either client side or contracting side

Driven and Hardworking individual

Rail project experience

Salary

Up to £90k depending on experience
