Bristol based Architectural consultancy client is looking for a talented Layout Designer to join their expanding office. They have a determination to provide a first-class service, which has generated client relationships across the Residential and Housing sector and in particular for National House Builder clients.

This particular role will be client facing and liaising with various housing builders and developers. The successful candidate would benefit from the opportunity to develop their experience and role within the growing team and candidates with extensive residential experience, particularly with housing developers are encouraged to apply. This exciting opportunity is a key appointment within the housing team and is a fantastic opportunity.

Duties will include resolving complex issues and producing well-designed, innovative, and deliverable buildings. A residential design background with an architectural degree or similar experience would be ideal and working knowledge of current UK planning policy and the RIBA Work Stages is essential.  Proven experience in working collaboratively within a similar environment is also required.

The ability to understand, communicate and present contextual issues from surrounding large areas and attending pre application discussions, planning meetings and consultations and involvement in all planning stages from initial site appraisals through to outline and full planning approvals is needed.  As well as keeping up to date with developments in the field and in order to support the team in being at the leading edge of urban design is required as well as being able to produce layout designs / feasibility sketches, using AutoCAD drawing and presentation skills and graphic skills including hand drawings, diagrams, plans and images using Photoshop / Illustrator.
