Land Surveyor/Setting out Engineer

Reporting to: Project Manager/Site Agent

Location: Surrey - National Contracts

Salary Negotiable £25,000 - £45,000 dependant on experienece

My client offers a full range of remediation and environmental services. Working across the UK they offer remediation on soil, groundwater and landfills for brownfield development. Acting as both the principle remediation contractor or subcontractor they offer bespoke solutions for all their clients.

Due to expansion in the company they have the need to recruit a Land Surveyor with experience in earthworks to remeasure quantities of cut and filletc. The role will involve carrying out volumetric calculations for the cut and fill operations along with some setting out for the job. The ideal candidate must be familiar with ground modelling software such as Civils 3D, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, LSS etc and be able to construct the required 3D models for use with the GPS software.

Job Purpose Statement

The purpose of this role is to provide all the setting out and surveying requirements of the site and the business. You will report directly to the Site/Projects Manager for your duties as well as the Contracts Manager for the projects you will be required to work on.

Job Accountabilities

  • For accurately setting out the works on site
  • Re-measure quantities of cut/fill, stockpiles and areas when required
  • Maintaining up to date information for the project
  • Recording locations of testing
  • Record keeping of site activities as required
  • Constructing required 3D models for use with the GPS software used by our own plant

Skills and Aptitude

  • Be proficient in the use of Total stations, automatic levels, surveying software, 3D modelling and general computer software

  • Ideally possess a qualification in surveying
  • Preferred : HNC or higher
