Job description

HSQE MANAGER - RAIL - NORTH WEST - PERMANENT

HSQE Manager required to join a well-established Rail & Construction Main Contractor in the North West. The HSQE Manager will play a key role in the companies next stage of expansion, ensuring all HSQE requirements and standards are met, and overseeing a number of key audits in the coming months.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Industry recognised qualification in Health & Safety (IOSH, NEBOSH etc.)
  • Recognised qualification in environmental management would be an advantage
  • Excellent understanding of Network Rail policies & standards in relation to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality practice
  • Ideally, you will have experience of working in a similar role, within the Rail industry
  • Good understand of UK H&S standards
  • Proven track record in the development and maintenance of Quality, environmental and Health & Safety integrated management systems
  • Ability to develop a team of HSQE advisors
  • Excellent understanding of IMS System implementation and maintenance of certification
  • Ability to carry out IMS Audits as an Internal auditor, ensuring all auditees are mentored and coached in order to develop their part of the programme
  • Internal auditor qualification would be an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the company complies with all legal compliance
  • Ensuring the company comply with all legislation compliance and preparing for upcoming audits
  • Maintenance of certification such as OHSAS 18001, ISO EN 9001, ISO EN 14001
  • Oversee the development of [policies and standards across the company
  • Reporting into the Head of Rail, you will have daily management of a team of HSQE advisors
  • Ensuring the company is aware of current industry legislation, and overseeing the implementation of any legislative changes
  • Taking the lead on all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements
