HSEQ Advisor - Civil Engineering

Nationwide coverage

Up to £37'000 per annum DOE, plus package

I am now working with an established national contractor who have an opportunity for two HSEQ Advisors to join their growing UK-wide on-site team. As the successful candidate your role will be to implement relevant health and safety legislation across on-site teams, nationwide. You will be required to monitor and ensure full compliance with internal management systems, conduct internal HSEQ and communicate findings to relevant members of staff across the business. This role involves remote working between the client's UK sites, so the ability to be proactive and manage your own time effectively is critical.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include:

- Knowledge of and practical implementation of Health and Safety legislation

- Monitoring and ensuring company compliance with internal management systems

- Working remotely at various sites nationwide

- Conducting internal HSEQ

- Reporting findings to the HSEQ manager

- Communicating across the company to a range of staff including site operatives and company directors

- Championing safety and engaging with workforce representatives

- Conducting incident investigations and reporting subsequent findings

- Developing and submitting site-specific safe systems of work documentation e.g: RAMS, CoSHH, to clients for review and approval

- Being client facing and representing the Company in HSEQ matters where required

Essential Skills/Qualifications

- Achieved or working towards a recognised construction safety qualification

- Highly developed communication skills

- Well-developed investigation and auditing skills

- Demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety law

- Experience of team working and self-management when working on site

- Strong interest in legislative, regulatory and good-practice standards

- Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills / Qualifications

- Demonstrable understanding of environmental law

- Computer literacy beneficial

- Proven track record of reporting both issues and positive news
