HR SHARED SERVICES MANAGER - WHALLEY, Nr BLACKBURN - PERMANENT ROLE

I currently have an excellent opportunity for a HR Shared Services Manager to join my clients team in their new Shared Service Centre in Whalley near Blackburn. They are looking for someone to join the team in the New Year.

JOB PURPOSE

  • To develop the newly established centre and deliver a professional, effective and efficient HR Shared Service Centre (HRSSC)
  • To lead and manage the team to deliver a customer focused service where Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are met and and the service provided is developed to ensure the aims of the business priorities are achieved
  • You would also be required to have experience of global mobility, visa and work permit applications/implementation and security clearance checks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continue to develop the newly set up HR Shared Service Centre (HRSSC). The centre will be responsible for the delivery of HR transactional administration
  • Develop a customer focused administrative/transactional function which reflects an improved service in line with SLA's and KPI's
  • Negotiate with senior managers to identify and develop KPI's/SLA's to ensure that service targets are agreed and implemented, that are workable for both the business and the HRSSC
  • Provide a comprehensive and professional HR transactional service to the UK business
  • Propose and manage annual budgets
  • Liaise with the business (with the assistance of Team Leaders), to review and improve SLA's and maximise value for money service
  • Lead and develop the team to provide a professional and accurate administrative/transactional service to managers and staff
  • Work with key stakeholders and customers to continuously evaluate the business needs, customer feedback and operational activity so as to improve customer service and identify development needs
  • Work with the HRSSC Team Leaders to ensure their teams are managed professionally and that the activity within the HRSSC meets legal and regulatory requirements at all times
  • Retain and update workforce plan to ensure the numbers of staff and skills within the team comply with the with the workforce plan
  • Influence the business to accept changes to ways of working
  • Represent the HRSSC at forums when required
  • Effectively manage all staff designated to your responsibility, to achieve the targets and performance standards expected of the team
  • Motivate your team through regular 1;1's and identify training needs by setting clearly defined objectives

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS

  • High -level understanding of a HRSSC that provides transactional and administrative tasks to a complex/matrix organisation
  • Experience of managing a team and able to demonstrate achievement of performance and efficiency benefits through excellent coaching and people development
  • High-level understanding of HR issues, process and procedure
  • Excellent and current understanding of UK employment law legislation
  • Experience of managing a budget and other resources
  • An understanding of Payroll activities
  • In-depth knowledge of Data Protection legislation, its implications and the need to comply
  • Experience of managing a team of administrators
  • Experience or working with SLA's/KPI's and working to deadlines
  • Experience of delivering customer focused services
  • Experience in providing MI reports, including providing the HRD with high quality information as required

Other desirable criteria includes but is not limited to; Possessing excellent attention to detail and the ability to lead by example with a 'can do' attitude. Providing support, guidance and coaching to direct reports. The ability to work to tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexible and adaptable. The ability to identify opportunities to improve the service.
