Job description

My client provides strategic property advice and estates solutions, as well as operational estate management and investment and development services.

Role Overview:

The Service Planner will be responsible for the development of health service strategies for their customers. You will require detailed knowledge, and relevant experience of, health service and social care planning from both a commissioning and provider prospective. You will understand the demands and interconnected nature of different services and the challenges that need to be overcome to enable effective and efficient service delivery from both a strategic and operational prospective.

Role Responsibilities

  • To provide health and social care service planning advice to the team and our customers.
  • To develop innovative solutions in service planning that promote efficiency and effectiveness in the planning of public services.
  • To support our estate strategy and development teams in forming an appropriate strategic estates response to service objectives.
  • To lead on the development and delivery of a range of advisory work providing advice as part of wider estates strategy work (eg. Options appraisals, feasibility studies, business case development, space utilisation, other research), either solely, as part of the wider team or with external advisors as needed.
  • To professionally represent the company at external meetings with scheme partners, building users, members of the public, funders, the supply chain and professional advisors.
  • To contribute to business planning and new business propositions/bids.

Skills & Attributes

As well as exhibiting a positive and approachable attitude, plenty of energy, confidence, initiative, professionalism, commitment and a strong team ethos, the suitable person will have the following:

Essential:

  • Degree in a relevant subject or educated to degree level and with a minimum of 5 years experience working at a similar level within the health service (either directly employed or as a consultant)
  • A knowledge of Public Private Partnerships
  • The ability to listen to our customers and learn about their world
  • Good people management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to prioritise tasks accordingly, meet set deadlines and work with multiple ongoing tasks
  • The ability to learn and work with new technology and software
  • Good decision making skills
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Awareness of the importance of confidentiality
  • Have good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • A full, valid UK driving licence and own transport
