Senior Health and Safety COnsultant / Principal Designer - South of England (home-based with an expectation of 1-2 days per week out at site or office meetings) - small but growing consultancy with a diverse workload and excellent progression opportunities. £45k-£60k+benefits 

Responsibilities:-

  • Managing the role of Principal Designer / Principal Designer Adviser & CDM Adviser under the CDM Regulations.
  • Manage and ensure the delivery of Health and Safety Consulting team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Develop strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.
  • Providing wider Health & Safety consultancy services to clients.
  • Preparation of fee proposals – attendance at Client presentations if required.
  • Be a primary interface with clients (new and existing).
  • Provide full Health & Safety consultancy duties to clients.


idealyyou will have:-

  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a consulting or client / contractor environment providing the full spectrum of Health and Safety services particularly CDM bias services such as Principal Designer and CDM Client Advisor, inspection and auditing, safety management system development and implementation etc.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from the front and advise clients and design teams on safety and health related matters and being a pivotal member of a project team.
  • Passionate about delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.
  • Experience in design delivery stages and construction processes
  • Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise typical office based software but with vision to develop new ways of presenting data.
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.
  • Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors within our active sectors in the UK – eg. Commercial Offices, Infrastructure, Residential, Mixed Use, Education and Healthcare.
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Ability to manage workload priorities
  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered or Graduate status with the IOSH.
  • Degree qualified
  • Membership of Association for Project Safety
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety preferred (or equivalent)
  • Memberships of either, Tech/Grad/CMIOSH, IMaPS/CMaPS
