Position: Health and Safety Advisor
Location: Central London
Salary: £48,000 plus benefits including shift uplift, company car or car allowance, travel, pension, private health care, discretionary bonus, holiday

A preeminent Main Contractor is currently seeking to attract an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to an £800m high profile project located in central London. You will be working on major, heavy civil engineering scope of works with large tunneling content and major heavy lifting operations.

As a site based Health and Safety Advisor you will be accountable for promoting safe and healthy working practices and for monitoring the implementation of policy and procedures across your section of this major scheme.

You will work closely with the site team with your key areas of responsibility being:
-Advise managers and supervisors at project sites, depots and offices of statutory health and safety requirements
-Provide assistance in the preparation of risk assessments and in the development of project management plans
-Provide support with respect to the principal contractor's duties under CDM
-Regularly inspect project work locations and activities
-Identify hazards and risk
-Verify that temporary works procedures are implemented safely
-Submit inspection reports to the Agent with copies to the relevant business unit manager and health and safety manager
-Monitor subcontractors during site visits to ensure that safe systems of work are being followed

For you to be successful in this role it is anticipated that you will meet the following criteria:
-Good communication skills in English; written and verbal
-A CSCS card - Construction H+S Officer/Manager/Senior Manager
-Tunnel safety card (not essential)
-NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
-A Professional membership (e.g. TechIOSH) would be highly desirable

Please note that this role will require you to work shift work, covering both days and nights.
