Job description

We are currently working with a leading UK Facilities Service provider, to recruit a Senior Manager to oversee the Hard FM project works on a large PFI public sector contract in the Gloucester area

Job Outline:

The Head of Programme Management will be responsible for the high level coordination, executive reporting, stakeholder management and prioritisation of all projects across the portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Own and effectively manage the senior level relationships required to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Establish and maintain mutually trusting relationships with key client stakeholders
  • Change advocate in support of new business initiatives / development and future Ways of Working
  • Ensure the effective transition / handover of project(s) through live operation
  • Actively liaise with consortia members to ensure priorities are understood and resources allocated
  • Conduct regular direct reporting to the boards and ensure effective mitigation and resolution of reported issues
  • Pro-actively monitor and attend client review meetings and effectively escalate and/or resolve issues to ensure programme continuity
  • Develop and refine effective reporting and governance structures to resolve project related issues
  • Ensure PM methodologies are followed to achieve statutory compliance
  • Evaluate / refine the PMO in accordance with business growth and pipeline opportunities
  • Manage the change control process to ensure that Hard and Soft FM issues as well as life cycle issues are incorporated and costed
  • Develop work packages for all service delivery plans and monitor the work package deliverables for compliance
  • Develop Lead-in-Plan for the projects to track contract compliance and sign off
  • Fully understand the project(s) so that all aspects of implementation are taken into account
  • Develop in conjunction with the commercial department interface agreements between project partners and overall awareness of Supply Chain Management.

Requirements for the candidate:

Essential:

  • Excellent project management skills supported by PRINCE 2 qualifications
  • Knowledge of NEC3, JCT or similar
  • Managing Successful Programmes practitioner
  • Significant experience of programme management within a complex secure government environment
  • Comfortable in managing complex change within a multi-disciplinary and challenging environment
  • Proven ability to develop and nurture relationships with different stakeholders within a secure government environment
  • Able to effectively challenge, develop and implement new ways of working in accordance with changing business imperatives
  • Good understanding of technology and business related challenges within a secure government environment
  • Experienced MSP practitioner with proven ability to apply 'Best Practice' both within Government and Private sector organisations

Desirable:

  • Degree qualified - Technical / Business related
