Requirement - Head of Project Management

Location - Southampton, Hampshire

AndersElite are proud to be working with one of the world's largest consultancies operating at the forefront of the transport, industry and property sectors who are looking to recruit an Associate Director to build a project management team.

Reporting to the Director of the Southampton office you will have direct line management responsibility for the project management team within the office. You will be accountable for the successful delivery of the business plan and have overall responsibility for the financial performance of the team.

A key role will be to create a strong link between the commercial, operational and administrative functions of the business through excellent communications and influencing skills. You will need to be highly commercial, capable of managing several projects simultaneously, client focused and with the energy and drive to succeed. You will be a first class people manager, with commercial experience and thorough knowledge of the Consultancy market place.

It is likely that you will have a particular sector niche and as such may be able to take on the lead role within the sector across the business.

Duties will include;

  • Create a business model for the office to ensure success, profitability and expansion
  • Accountable for the financial performance of the office including the effective management of WIP, Debt and invoicing
  • Establish new business opportunities and lead business development
  • Establish long term and strong relationships with new and existing clients to increase the office portfolio
  • Build internal working relationships within the Design and Development Division and Group to sell and market the office services
  • Explore all opportunities to promote and cross sell group capabilities
  • Complete monthly reports for the Managing Director and present updates on the office and business plans at Quarterly Board meetings
  • Manage, lead, and support the teams and office
  • Responsible for the people management of direct reports including the signing of timesheets / holidays etc.
  • Accountable for the sign off process for Proposals and Bids

The exact parameters of the role will be determined by the level of appointment and the particular skill set and experience of the new Director.

Experience and Technical Skills;

  • Professionally qualified in a relevant construction discipline
  • Chartered / professional accreditation is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent knowledge of the local market and client base
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Financial and project management
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with team, colleagues, clients and external bodies.
  • An ability to network internally and create opportunities from existing relationships within the business.
  • Strategically and commercially astute with a thorough understanding of financial management and controls
  • A niche is one of more active sectors.
  • Think bigger picture in terms of the wider UK and global business.

Candidates will need to possess an excellent knowledge of the disciplines available
