About the role;

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the country's foremost sheet piling subcontractors.

The role involves the day-to-day Project Management of piling projects in the UK. The job is office based in the Midlands, but will require travelling to a variety of sites across the UK. Some early starts will be required to fulfil the position.

In addition, the role requires producing detailed drawings, some site operations and other aspects of being part of a successful specialist subcontractor.

You will need to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of professionals, including consultants, main contractors, suppliers, our own site operatives and others.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Civil Engineering Degree of similar aligned qualification.

A keenness to learn all aspects of sheet piling, civil engineering and construction.

Full driving licence/ability to meet travel requirements of the role.

Full eligibility to work in the UK, i.e., a UK national, or you have the appropriate work permit with 5 years minimum period or indefinite leave to remain.

Skills
After a period of training and learning it is expected you will be able to fulfil the following duties;

Able to work within a small operations team whilst gaining knowledge to provide limited technical design input and best practice;

Assist in undertaking the project management of small and medium sized projects

Being responsible for the production of technical information including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, drawings, and such like;

After training, becoming competent in the production of Lift Plans and acting as the Appointed Person as specific role when using cranes, piling rigs and lifting equipment.

Be able to read designs (stated deflections pile lengths sections etc.), and drawings and other assessments in accordance with the quality procedures;

Liaising effectively with clients, and other design, estimating, and operational team members;

Become competent in reviewing specifications and technical reports and feasibility studies;

Good understanding of the CDM 2015 Regulations;
Attendance of the SMSTS course and gaining the required qualification.

Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite of packages;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Further Training and advancement.

You will be given the opportunity to gain the various qualifications required to become a successful Project Manager. These will include;

* Basic Health and Safety for site operations
* Site Mangers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
* Appointed Persons (for crane operations)
* Other courses appropriate for the role.
