General Foreman - Civils

Location - Southern Area - Various Sites

Salary £Negotiable dependant on experience

The purpose of the General Foreman role is to ensure the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and snag free. Operate and promote safe working practices and all works carried out in line with approved methods of statements and that all site personnel have job relevant training. Lead by example. Implement company requirements and legal regulations paying specific attention to HSE. Planning works, debriefings, supporting RAMS.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering team and other technical staff Project based staff including Contracts Managers, Project Managers Site Agents

Key measures & targets:

  • Monthly and weekly reporting timescales are met
  • Adherence to Business Unit Objectives
  • Maintain safe site
  • Ensure 3 Pillar KPI measures are met

Key relationships:

  • Customers and stakeholders
  • Subcontractors and suppliers
  • Site teams and support departments

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Essential

  • Excellent people skills with proven leadership qualities coupled with the ability to motivate others.
  • Good communication, organisational, planning and time management skills Extensive experience in the construction industry specifically within general civils environment.
  • Previous experience if infrastructure, drainage, public realm, highways and structures essential.
  • Proven people management skills including the management of sub-contractors.
  • A practical and hands on approach.
  • CSCS Supervisor Card/SMSTS/SSSTS qualifications CPCS appointed person for lifting operations preferred, lift supervisor is essential.
  • First aid qualification
  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • Confined Space City and Guilds medium risk, CP1
