Gas Meter Engineering Manager

I have a great opportunity for an experienced Meter Engineering Manager to work with one of the UK's leading Gas Infrastructure Providers.

You will be required to support the business on all technical gas meter and gas meter engineering matters, providing a first point of contact to the management team and the employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as lead for during internal and external periodic / annual M.A.M and OAMI GSR audits
  • Manage all technical matters for gas meters up to 38 bar
  • Responsible for meter maintenance programme and maintenance
  • Collate and manage/oversee all meter design inquiries and responses
  • Update all meter procedures as and when required
  • Manage meter contractors and suppliers
  • Prepare adhoc primary and secondary gas meter and ancillaries quotations
  • Ensure works to T's & C's and other commercial considerations
  • Prepare/arrange/submit RAMS/Lifting Plans etc. for installation and maintenance/operation
  • Manage and oversee the meter specification/meter order process
  • Manage and maintain up to date meter asset and asset disposal records
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Keep abreast of industry developments - attend industry liaisons, seminars, and meetings as appropriate
  • Conduct or arrange energy audits and surveys, performance tests and investigations
  • Provide suitable management information for the metering dept. performance.
  • Ensure the team works to company and industry health and safety standards and to all company policies
  • Manage obligations under the Pressure System Safety Regulations
  • Manage and co-ordinate the company's out-of-hours Meter Emergency Service

Education and skills Requirements:

  • Possess or be working to gain accreditation with IGEM
  • Previous experience of working in the natural gas / gas metering / construction industry
  • Ability to work within a face-paced team environment and also as stand-alone
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Must be literate, numerate and IT proficient, particularly with MS office package, MS Word, Excel etc.
  • Keen to expand knowledge and experience to other areas within the Company
  • Occasional travel to other offices, customer offices and locations and visits to operational sites
  • Minimum standards of mobility - due to visits / working at times on 3rd party construction sites
