Job description

  • Health, Safety and Environment - To manage and maintain each site in a manner which complies with the relevant statutory health, safety and environmental provisions and any local site specific requirements. This includes ensuring:-

  • All standard tasks have a Risk Assessment and Safe System of Work prepared and that these are communicated to the workforce prior to the relevant work being undertaken.
  • Maintain a training matrix and ensure training is undertaken to fulfil the requirements of the matrix.
  • Reporting safety information to the Perstorp site management team and Clugston FM on a monthly basis.
  • Subcontractor compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality and Legislation.
  • The control of work procedures is followed for all site work, and that prior approval (including permits to work) is granted before commencing activities.
  1. The identification, provision and management of the use of PPE in accordance with activity risk assessments and site rules.
  • The recording all accidents, incidents, ill health reports and near misses.
  • Undertaking a minimum of 1 PSD / near miss report each month

  • Quality Control - To ensure each site has a Contract Plan (quality control system) implemented and maintained in an up-to-date and accurate format. This includes ensuring:-

  • Lead continuous improvement in accordance with the site needs and ensure it is proactively pursued and implemented where reasonably practicable to do so.
  • That systems and procedures are compliant with ISO 9001, and the correction of any 'non-compliance' issues raised and actioned as necessary.

  • Financial Control - To manage site services and works economically, efficiently and effectively. This will include:-

  • Financial performance reporting and forecasting for site activities.
  • Periodic review of costs to ensure prices are competitive and each site realises best value for money.
  • Organising tenders for goods and sub-contracted services.
  • Cost tracking of core and extra costs against contracted values.
  • Management of site purchasing and invoicing systems.

  • Operational performance - To manage the activities and services as required by the site contractual agreement and other opportunities which may arise. This includes:-

  • Ensuring a Planned Preventative Maintenance programme (PPM) is prepared and maintained encompassing the requirements of the Contract Plan, H&S File, manufacturer's recommendations, legislation and industry requirements.
  • Ensuring the site planning activities are aligned with Perstorp production schedules and addressing any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Inspection of premises with respect to Clugston duties and ensuring compliance with the relevant contractual requirements, statutory provisions and applicable risk assessments.
  • Management and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Management of employees to ensure labour is provided as contractually agreed, including managing holidays and absences.
  • Preparing of monthly performance review / progress reports.
  • Recruiting and training of resource (including; development of job descriptions, advertisement of vacancies, selection and appointment).
  • Scheduling and organising resources (including labour, plant, materials and other equipment as necessary) in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner to meet Perstorp's production demands.
  • Tracking and reporting of operational performance against Key Performance Indicators.
  • Use IT systems to produce graphs / measuring / monthly reports.

  1. General - Other Duties

  • Acting and behaving in accordance with the purpose, vision and values of the organisation.

  • Overtime working and dealing with out of hour's calls (evenings, week-ends and bank holidays) may be required from time to time to suit client needs.

  • Carrying out any other reasonable request(s) from your line manager.
