Job description

Overall purpose and accountability

As a member of Kier's Contract delivery team, to co-ordinate the activities of all facilities management staff (cleaning/ M&E, grounds and security) in such a way as to best support the delivery of the Output specifications per the Form of Contract between the client and Kier Facilities Services Ltd.

To be accountable for delivering the operational support service as outlined in the Contract to the Academy.

To co-ordinate maintenance and use of the Academy facilities in such a way as to support the Contract KPI's and the overall client vision.

To contribute to the Health and Safety requirements and responsibilities as Contracted maintenance provider to the Academy

To provide a single point of contact to the Director of Finance & Resources and Academy staff on all matters relating to the effective operational running of the Academy's facilities.

To ensure that all events and functions are planned for and that all Kier staff are in a state of readiness for the event/ function.

To ensure the security of the site at all times in tandem with the Contracted security company, and to monitor the security routines and performance with support from the Academy's Concierge Officer.

To ensure the safe and effective running of mechanical and electrical equipment supported by the daily monitoring of Kier staff in this area.

To manage the system for regular checking of the premises and ensure that repairs are undertaken to appropriate standards.

To support the Academy in the management of the maintenance and repairs of furniture, fixtures and fittings and directing the effective work of the relevant Kier staff in this area.

To support and advise the Academy on the purchase of furniture, fixtures and fittings appropriate to the needs of the Academy outside the scope of the contract and recommend replacement as necessary, and to manage the asset list/ inventory effectively and efficiently for the contract.

To co-ordinate the daily cleaning and caretaking schedules and activities, including the checking of clock in-times and timesheets, and the performance of Kier's cleaning teams

To co-ordinate all sub-contractors and ensure that their work is completed to Kier's specifications.

To partner with and support the Academy's Finance Officer (located in M1) with the efficient management and maintenance of the facilities used by hirers of the facilities.

To support the Academy with relevant on-site events, parents' evenings and exam assessment periods enabling them to be run smoothly with required set up and organised to satisfaction of the Academy.

To represent the Academy on operational and property related matters and at events if required.

Success criteria

There are no serious breaches of security on the site.

There are no accidents resulting from negligence.

Any major breakdowns are fixed promptly with minimal disruption to the running of the Academy.

Governors are pleased by the general state of repair and cleanliness throughout the Academy.

Visitors and callers are happy with the way they are treated and with responses to their enquiries.

Lettings are successfully carried out and maintenance is in hand

All Academy events are operational successes.

Up to date KPI performance data is accurate and readily available to the Director of Finance and Resources, Governors, Leadership Team and other managers at the Academy.

Operational matters are handled in a manner which is 'invisible' and does not detract from the core educational purpose for the Academy.

All minor repairs and adjustments are carried out by Kier staff are handled efficiently and properly.

All progress of repairs are well communicated.
