Job Title: Estimator / Senior Estimator
Location: Midlands (Severn Trent Water region)

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 Per Annum + Package (Negotiable on level & relevant experience)

Our client, a large Civil Engineering contractor who operate within the Water sector, have an excellent opportunity available for an Estimator / Senior Estimator to join their growing team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be part of their Severn Trent Water team, helping to deliver AMP 7, over the coming 5+ years.

The role will involve working with the existing commercial team, to help produce accurate tenders, effectively planning projected cost and timescales, identifying construction risks, researching materials, plant, labour and equipment costs and generally displaying strong numerical, analytical and estimation skills.

The role would suit a well organised individual with previous Estimating experience within the Water sector (ideally on AMP 6 projects), or someone who has worked on similar / applicable schemes within the Infrastructure or Civil Engineering environment, including highways, utilities and traditional contracts.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
* Achieving the delivery of projects within budget.
* Working in accordance with the direction of the Project Manager.
* Delivering projects in line with the customer objectives and contracted scope of works.
* Taking part in contract reviews relating to the contract with the customer.
* Preparing Estimates and Cost Plans in line with the project briefs.
* Assisting in the development of programmes for the delivery of our services
* Preparing standard documentation - reports, letters, financial statements etc.
* Preparing Estimates as required
* Assisting with the analysis of business cases, prepare reports at all stages of budget setting
* Assisting in the settlement of construction disputes by providing and evaluating cost data and preparing / agreeing final accounts.
* Producing financial reports for post contract review.
* Ensuring that estimates are aligned to any programme and risk criteria.
* Attendance at design team and progress meetings as necessary.

Candidates will ideally have:
* Previous experience in a relevant Estimator / Senior Estimator position.
* Previous experience working within the Water or Civil Engineering industry, ideally on similar projects including AMP 6 projects (or have worked in other applicable Infrastructure sectors).
* A formal qualification in Estimating / Quantity Surveying / Engineering / Construction Management or similar (I.e BSc, HND or similar).
* A relevant accredited membership (I.e. ACostE/MRICS/MCIOB)
* Previous experience using Estimating packages such as Conquest, Candy, MS project etc.
* Extensive experience of working on Water and Pipeline projects (Preferred).
* A strong understanding of how TOTEX (Total expenditure) is calculated using Capital Expenditure, Operational Expenditure, Whole etc.
* Knowledge of Life cost and Embedded / Operational carbon values.
