Estimator Role - Building - Manchester - BLUE CHIP MAIN CONTRACTOR - TOP TEN CONTRACTOR

The client

A leading, BLUE CHIP national TIER ONE contractor are looking to appoint an Estimator to their Manchester based operation.

This is an office based role in Manchester. A already established national contractor with a strong presence throughout the UK and the North West.

This multi award winning contractor has built a track record of delivering a number of large and medium high quality projects throughout its history within the industry.

Purpose:-

To provide bid costs for construction projects for Business Unit Adjudications ensuring a competitive nett bid. Supervising and coaching less experienced estimators to assist in their career development.

Main responsibilities

Check and acknowledge tender documents and amendments.

Enter details on RIMS.

Abstract information into subcontract and material packages.

Select subcontract and material companies from Unison.

Organise copy of tender documents and amendments for appropriate parties.

Arrange pricing document production - internal or external - if required.

Enter pricing document onto ISEC or Causeway.

Rate up pricing document.

Answering queries from subcontractors/suppliers.

Arrange site visit.

Requesting further information from Client/Design Team and arrange meeting if required.

Internal meetings to review design alternatives and value management with DM/BSM.

Enter sub-contractor/supplier quotations into ISEC.

Liaise with Planner re: Methodology.

Post tender negotiations with Client.

Ensure final 'Green Sheet' is fully distributed.

Enter final tender information on RIMS.

Prepare information packages for handover to construction team, if successful.

Attend handover meeting and brief team on tender bid.

Supervision of Trainee Estimator/Estimator.

Attend pre-contract Design Team Meetings, if D & B.

Cost Planning.

Input supply chain performance data on Unison.

Undertake project debrief, eliciting feedback from sites, to improve construction.

Identification of project related risks.

Identify scope for value creation / value engineering.

Implement SHE policy.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge:

* Knowledge of the construction industry

* Knowledge of sub-contractors and suppliers

Salary:

£45,000 - £60,000
