Electrical Works Manager

Projects: Nationwide (3-4 days per week)

£35,000 - £40,000

Our client is one of the fastest growing modular build contractors in the UK. The business typically work on projects ranging from £500k through to £6 million and are on a number of public sector frameworks. The majority of their projects are in the education sector ranging from extensions through to new build schools.

They have a number projects across the UK including London, Sheffield, Gateshead, Newcastle, Birmingham, Slough and Colchester.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Read through tenders to understand requirements and work closely with E&P manager to enable accurate cost to be submitted
  • Where required, organising site visits to carry out site inspection to get true interpretation of works & scope, feeding back relevant information to E&P Manager.
  • Work Closely with E&P Manager, setting out of material/kit lists at quotation stage for ease of ordering materials for the associated job
  • Work Closely with E&P Manager, Setting out of hours associated with each section/sub-section for tasks to see the job to completion, again for ease of breakdown and to assist in works schedules for engineers
  • Utilising the Job Analysis spreadsheet to ensure budget set out at start of project is closely monitored on a weekly basis reporting information to Director.
  • Reacting to issues on site, this could be planned through organised visits or immediate attendance due to technical faults that are resulting in Electrical systems being down.
  • Organising engineers on a weekly/daily basis as the schedule requires, schedule to be set out and reported to Director on weekly meetings
  • Setting out works schedules to ensure job has set timescales against quoted hrs and ensuring works are carried out as per quote and additions relayed back to Directors on weekly meetings
  • Carry out sign off for NICEIC certification through to notification as part of the company registration
  • Deal with technical queries from engineers as required, look into queries and ensure engineers understand how to fix the problem and organise in house training should this be required
  • Organisation and carry out of site visits for the purpose of Quality & H&S control and documentation
  • Whilst on site visits carry out progress report, ensuring timescales are met on a weekly basis and report back so issues with timescales can be discussed /resolved.
  • Collating timesheets/job sheets on a weekly basis and ensuring these are completed correctly and hours claimed are correct with the correct job number referenced
  • Collate all expenses sheets weekly and ensure all information is complete & correct stating correct job reference for sign off by SB

Candidate Profile:

To be considered for this role you will need a strong building services background and be qualified in an electrical discipline. You will have experience working within a range of sectors including Commercial, Healthcare, Education and Data Centres. You will have a proven background in working on M&E projects up to £3 million.
